Fishing
I golfed pretty well this morning and then did some running around town, got my nails done and got home in time to put the final two borders on that quilt top. It looks really good, no picture yet, as it is too big to hold up and there was too much wind outside to hang it on the clothesline for photos. Maybe tomorrow.
Norb and I went fishing this evening and had a great time and success as well. I got my limit and Norb got a half a limit. I have 5 or 6 that were 3/4 of a pound to 1 pound. We weighed a couple with my Weight Watchers scale when we got home. It was a great night. It's a little after 10 and all the fish are cleaned and soaking in salt water in the frig, the dish washer is going and now a little time for computer.

Haven't been here for a long time but just got done eating at our church festival and now will be putting the borders on a quilt I started in January. It is a block of the month project and I am finished with the blocks and sashing so hopefully between working at the festival and golf tonight I will be able to get the borders on and finished. Then, decision time, will I quilt it myself or take it to a long arm quilter. Just don't know.
The quilt shop in Kimball will rent out their long arm quilting machine and that might be an option also. I will have to take a class on how that operates but that should not be too difficult for me to get done. I know that will all have to wait until fall when I can't golf three or four times a week.

Wow, I got out alive and I actually found what I was looking for. I did have to have lunch when I was done. All that digging got me hungry you know. Then I had Norb adjust the sewing machine. I have been haveing trouble with the height of the machine on the lift since I got the new machine. After a couple of phone calls to my friends at the sewing center, we got it figured out. Then I put the borders on and it is ready to sandwich into a quilt. Then a little machine quilting and off to club next month for show and tell. Thanks Deb for being on call in case of emergency. I know how my friends are. If I know my friend Eve would ever read my blog, I could have put her on allert also.
Good morning on this rainy day. I just want to post a little thing to all of you but especially to my friend Debbie. I have a little quilt done for the heritage group and now need some border fabric. Here's where that Debbie comes in. She knows where the stash is. I am going to the stash and if she does not hear from me in a day or two, she knows where to send the rescue squad. Can I count on you to do that for me Deb? I know that I will not starve to death in a couple of days but I am a little fearful of being smothered. Sooo, now I will go with a clear idea that Deb will be on her job. Hugs to all of you

Well, this is what happens when you start to get old. I forgot that I had taken a picture of this block and it was not so good, sooo I had to take another one and so the missing is found. OK, Debbie, you are off the hook.
Now, does someone want to help me find my missing brain cells? I have no idea what happens except that I am on my second cup of coffee today and that is not enough to get the body moving. Maybe later I will function a little better. Did you catch that maybe?

Sooo, we have 5 more of the Dear Jane blocks done. Deb has been after me to put them on the blog so I hope she is happy now. I think I have 9 blocks done so far. Had to take a little break and do up a couple of Project Linus quilt tops and a couple of block of the month blocks. I think I may be missing a block of the DJ here so will have to post this and then go back and see if I can figure out which of these are missing. Go figure, only 9 blocks and one has gone missing already. Do you have it Debbie?

Good Morning friends,
I have made this little wall hanging for my chiroprator's office. This is the third one I have made for them. They hang it in the reception area for all to see. This is spring/summer. They also have fall and winter. It is really fun to go in there and see my work hanging on the wall. I used a book called Floral Applique by Nancy Pearson. Then I did a little redoing to fit the spot they hang them. The original was a little more spread out and I just redrew the pattern until I got what I wanted.

I am started on a new project. Just what I need, another project. Anyway, Debbie has finally talked me into doing a Dear Jane. Now I am an official Janiac. I have three blocks done and have used Inklingo's Storm at Sea for the sashing. With the Inklingo it is so easy, just print all the cutting and sewing line on the back of the fabric and cut them out. Then get going and sew them together. I have a goal to do the sashing as I make the blocks. This way I can print a little at a time and sew them up and on to the next block. For the DJ blocks I am using whatever jumps out of the scrap box that is big enough to use. Now, I could go to the basement and take up the other two scrap boxes I suppose. NOT!!! But, if I run out of possibilities, I will have to go dig in the other boxes anyway.

Well for goodness sake, I can't believe that it has been this long since I posted on this blog. Soooo, I will try to catch you all up with my news. Christmas was pretty close to finished on the 20th of December for us as Jody and Todd decided to go to Gilbert for Christmas eve and day so we had Christmas the weekend before. We celebrated all day Saturday and Sunday. Then Christmas eve we had dinner at our house with Rick and Gavin and then went to their house to open presents again. Then off to church and home to bed. Good thing for old people like us. We can't do so much celebrateing any more. Christmas day was spent with ourselves and Rick, very relaxed and fun.
Then the weekend came and we had to start to pack for vacation. We left on Mon the 28th for Mission, Tx arriveing there on Weds. the 30th. We got to Mission at 2:15 in the afternoon, unpacked our bags, got back in the car and drove to the golf course. We golfed 6 times in 6 days while we were there. Also got a little side trip on foot into Mexico, went to South Padre Island, and went to church at Our Lady of Gaudalope church. That was interesting. Someday you will have to ask me about the dogs and llama in the church.
On Mon the 4th we golfed in a scramble in the morning and then headed north to the San Antonio area. My cousin rented a condo in New Bruenfels and we spent a couple of nights with them. We also got to see a cousin of Norb's while there. Had a great time with them but on Weds the 6th started west to Mesa Arizona to visit with our friends John and Marion. Had another great week there. We golfed with a couple from there church on Mon but Norb golfed 4 times while we were there. We also did a little climbing and hiking and walked during the day. Also got to go to a quilt shop when Marion was teaching. We visited all the great hang outs while we were there. Like the Bernina store, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, a bead store, and the Quilt shop at least 3 times. On Thurs the 14th we headed back east and then north. Took three days to drive but got back on the 16th about 2 in the afternoon.
Back to routine from there. Tues I volunteered at our local school and then had to catch up on things like grocery shopping and gym workouts and nails to be done. Then we will not talk about the two days I spent running up and down the basement stairs getting laundry done.
I think I may have gotten to the caught up point but then had to make a wall hanging for my chiropractors office this week. And also had to get together a power point presentation done for church this weekend. Tonight I presented that as a part of the homily. It was about a project we have been working on for Venezuela.
